Overview

This department offers a curriculum based exclusively on "food science and technologies" that are fundamental for innovating food-related industries, as an international joint program between Gifu University in the field of agriculture (Applied Biological Sciences) and the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in the field of engineering. Major academic areas include: food engineering, microbiology, biotechnology, life science, food science, nutritional science, mathematical engineering, and chemical engineering, among others. In order to optimize utilization of local characteristics both from within the Tokai region of Japan and Assam, India, the program provides international collaborative education to foster highly skilled professionals with a Glocalization perspective who can detect and resolve the food-related challenges of both countries.
