Overview
By clarifying various biological phenomena at the molecular level, it is possible to reveal functional characteristics of various organisms and utilize these molecular functions. This department features the elucidation of useful substances produced by microorganisms, plants, and animals at the molecular level. It also aims to apply these results to the manufacturing of food products, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and chemicals, and to improve the environment. We educate and conduct research to develop human resources who are able to analyze biological and environmental components at the molecular level, acquiring the theories and techniques for application in society.
